政府的公共政策影響著我們每日的日常生活，亦影響著社會及國家的整體發展。本課程旨在介紹公共政策的基礎知識，特別著重於公共議題的分析與討論，藉此提升同學們對於影響其日常生活相關的公共議題意識，亦進一步提升其關心及瞭解不同公共議題的意願與能力。
本課程透過不同領域的同學們自行選定一項公共政策議題，進行此議題發生原因的分析，並運用上課所教授的政策行動方案分析方法，進一步研擬以問題解決為導向、可行的、創新的政策行動方案來解決此公共議題。
本課程設計能進一步瞭解年輕世代對於當今社會一些公共議題的看法，及其解決這些公共議題的觀點與作法，亦可從中瞭解其與現行政府認定之公共議題及其解決方法的差異性，並進一步反思這些差異性如何回應與改變對現行公共議題的認知與解決方式。
This course aims to introduce basic knowledge, concepts, theories, and analytical methods of public policy. This course is also designed for applying the academic knowledge into practice. The students are required to research on a public issue which is linked to themselves personally and apply different public policy analytical methods to analyze this public issue. In the process, the students need to analyze the public issue in-depth and suggest possible problem-solving, feasible, and creative policy actions or solutions to resolve this issue. In the end, the students need to submit their reports on the selected issues, present their results, and answer or discuss the relevant questions in the class. After the training of this course, the students need to have the ability to be more aware of different public issues, reflect on these issues more in-depth and rationally, be able to analyze these issues and find solutions, and finally care more about community, society, or others' needs and problems.
