This English-taught course explores major contemporary issues in global sport and society. Through case studies, news reports, sport documentaries, and guided discussions, this course aims to help students examine how sport intersects with gender, politics, media representation, sustainability, national identity, and international sporting events. Students are expected to develop critical thinking skills and gain a deeper understanding of the social, cultural, and political dimensions of sport.
Each week, students are expected to complete assigned readings before class and actively participate in discussions and debates on current issues in the sporting world. Class activities emphasize active learning, collaborative discussion, and reflection. Students will need to submit regular reflection journals through the online learning platform (E-course) to demonstrate their engagement with course topics.
