本課程主要目標為探討公共政策相關的知識及歷史，以瞭解公共政策過程、議題分析的相關理論與實務，認識學術界關於公共政策的巨著與原典。課程內容包含：公共政策的定義、歷史與典範、研究途徑，公共政策與政策分析（兼論公共政策過程），政策議題探討，公共政策現況與未來。本課程所指定的閱讀文章包括專書論著、期刊文章、政府報告、歷史文獻及個案研究等。
This course explores the intellectual foundations and history of public policy. It is also designed to understand the theories and applications of public policy, analysis methods of public issues, and classics in public policy. The course will be divided into six main topics: 1. the definition of public policy; 2. the paradigm of public policy; 3. the approaches to studying public policy; 4. public policy and policy analysis; 5. policy issues discussion; 6. contemporary and future public policy. The required readings for this class consist of book chapters, journal articles, government reports, documentaries, policy case studies, and so on.
