This course will be to instruct the students in the crystal structure, composition, property, and occurrence of minerals and to the interpretation of igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks which make up the earth lithosphere. The processes that control the genesis of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks are also emphasized to reveal the active earth. After complete this course, the students are expected to recognize some selected minerals and rocks in detailed.
