This course is designed to develop students' academic English proficiency through integrated reading, writing, and discussion activities. Students will learn to apply effective reading strategies to comprehend extended texts from interdisciplinary fields and a variety of genres. Emphasis is placed on fostering critical thinking skills by guiding students to analyze, evaluate, and synthesize information, including assessing arguments, evidence, sources, and authors' purposes. The course also focuses on developing academic writing skills, enabling students to produce coherent essays using different text patterns. Through collaborative group discussions and peer interaction, students will have opportunities to apply critical thinking skills to deepen their understanding of reading texts and to refine their writing.
