本課程以「地方知識的理解、田野經驗的轉化與敘事成果的數位呈現」為核心，帶領學生從民族誌視野出發，認識地方社會中的有形與無形文化，包括工藝表現、文化空間、文化慶典、飲食文化、樂舞歌謠等面向。課程結合文化研究、田野調查、深度訪談、資料蒐整、深度報導與影像敘事，引導學生進入地方現場，觀察地方知識的生成脈絡、文化實踐及其當代變化。
教學歷程分為地方知識理解、報導企劃、移地田野、訪調書寫與成果發表等階段。學生將透過實際訪調，學習從多元觀點辨識議題、整理文獻與田野資料，進而完成兼具文化深度、敘事結構與公共溝通價值的深度報導作品，並思考文字、影像及數位媒介在地方知識保存、轉譯與傳播上的應用。課程安排包含民族誌紀錄、地方文化專題、深度報導結構、田調方法、移地教學、影像敘事與作品發表，與教學大綱所設定的在地關懷、多元文化理解及文資整合能力相互呼應。
This course centers on "understanding local knowledge, transforming field experiences, and digitally presenting narrative outcomes." Grounded in an ethnographic perspective, it leads students to explore tangible and intangible cultures within local societies, covering aspects such as craft expressions, cultural spaces, festivals, foodways, and traditional music and dance. Combining cultural studies, fieldwork, in-depth interviews, data collection, feature reporting, and visual storytelling, the course guides students into local settings to observe the context of local knowledge creation, cultural practices, and contemporary transformations.

The instructional pathway is divided into several stages: understanding local knowledge, story pitching, off-site fieldwork, interview writing, and final presentation. Through hands-on investigation, students learn to identify issues from diverse viewpoints and systematically organize literature and field data. Ultimately, they create feature-length narrative projects that integrate cultural depth, structural coherence, and public communication value, while examining how text, imagery, and digital media can preserve, translate, and disseminate local knowledge. Course activities include ethnographic documentation, local cultural topics, feature writing structures, fieldwork methodology, field study trips, visual narrative techniques, and final project presentations—echoing the core competencies of local care, multicultural understanding, and cultural heritage integration outlined in the syllabus.
