本課程聚焦地方知識重要文本民族誌，試圖透過田野調查、文獻檢索、數位平台、課堂互動，積澱對族群的深入了解，強化挖掘地方問題的觀察力，並以邏輯思考解決問題的方案，透過檔案的解讀來創造多元脈絡的故事開發，能將議題直接落實到文字與數位化，以深度報導、影像傳播作為再現工具。
「民族誌專題」有其好處―具脈絡化和全面性，將能使學生尋找開闊、多元的角度，更了解地方特質、文化蘊含，從議題擇定、創意發想、展開調訪、故事發展、寫作、攝影，到紀錄片拍攝，在影像傳播的方法基礎上，表述深刻的思維，追溯過去，記錄現在，瞻望未來，而數位檔案的參與建置過程，也可增進未來數位人文之發展。

This course focuses on ethnography—a key approach to understanding local knowledge—and aims to cultivate a deep understanding of ethnic communities and sharpen the ability to identify local issues through fieldwork, literature review, digital platforms, and classroom interaction. Students will learn to devise logical solutions, develop stories with diverse contextual layers through the interpretation of archival materials, and translate issues into written and digital formats using in-depth reporting and visual media as tools for representation.
The ethnographic approach offers distinct advantages—namely, its contextual depth and comprehensiveness—enabling students to adopt broad, multifaceted perspectives and gain a richer understanding of local characteristics and cultural significance. The process spans topic selection, creative ideation, fieldwork, narrative development, writing, photography, and documentary filmmaking; grounded in visual communication methods, it allows students to articulate profound insights, trace the past, document the present, and envision the future. Furthermore, participating in the creation of digital archives contributes to the future development of digital humanities.
