接續上學期的課程，本學期會先講述各時代重要之陶瓷器，接著會偏重探討宋代以後至二十世紀前半期的繪畫史。介紹重要畫家與敘述、闡釋、分析重要作品之前，會先介紹各時代政治、經濟、文化和宗教背景。(Following last semester’s course, this semester will first cover important ceramics from different eras. Then, the focus will shift to the history of painting from the Song Dynasty to the first half of the twentieth century. Before introducing important artists and describing, explaining, and analyzing their significant works, the political, economic, cultural, and religious backgrounds of each era will be introduced first.)本課程先教授藝術史研究方法、中國書畫鑑定議題，再結合課堂講授、實作及作品鑑賞。主要講解中國花鳥畫、人物畫之發展脈絡，說明重要藝術家的時空背景，以及重要作品的創作動機、技法特色及影響。另外，延請專業藝術家講解且示範創作水墨畫（或彩墨畫）技巧，讓學生能實際體驗藝術創作的過程，以培養其瞭解與欣賞作品之能力。並帶領或指定學生參觀展覽，以拓展學生對中國繪畫的認知。
