本課程旨在充實學生對於明清社會文化史之專業學識，以一學期的時間，協助學生掌握此領域重要課題之研究趨向與方法。
課程設計以明清朝代更迭為軸心，闡釋存於明清社會中的重要人群與文化現象，從中討論政府與地方的權力互動、以及這些互動如何影響當時士庶男女、軍人、商人的日常生活與思考模式。
This course is designed to enhance students’ specialized knowledge of the social and cultural history of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Over the span of one semester, it aims to help students grasp key research themes, approaches, and current trends in this field.

The course is structured around the dynastic transition from the Ming to the Qing, using this historical framework to explore significant social groups and cultural phenomena in late imperial China. Through these discussions, we will examine the dynamics of power between the central government and local society, and how these interactions shaped the everyday lives and mentalities of various social actors—including officials, commoners, women and men, soldiers, and merchants.
