This seminar provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the process of writing a Master’s thesis, using Nella Larsen’s novels as primary examples. Students will first engage in close reading of Larsen’s works, followed by a critical analysis of her works. Afterward, students will explore existing literature on Larsen to learn various aspects of thesis writing, including selecting a topic, formulating a thesis statement, conducting a literature review, gathering scholarship on the thesis topic, critical analysis, argumentation, and structure. By the end of the course, students will have developed all the necessary knowledge about the thesis writing process and will be equipped with the skills needed to start their own projects.
