本課程探究中國古典至近代的旅遊文學書寫。中國傳統的書寫者們，並不如一般思維裡，總是安土重遷，固守鄉居。他們亦會離開熟悉的故土，展開身體與精神的行旅。這些行旅經驗，開拓了古典文學書寫的版圖，亦形塑紛繁複雜的旅途樣貌。本課程呼應學者提出的「『遊』的中國文學史」方案，透過「旅遊」的視角，按時序介紹、探討不同型態的文學文本，引領同學有條理地建構中國「旅遊文學」的知識，並延展文學閱讀的眼界。
本課程另加入「遊記」習作，引導同學結合所學，透過旅遊者的視角，撰寫「家鄉旅遊指南」。

This course explores the development of travel literature in China from ancient times to the modern era. Contrary to the conventional view that traditional Chinese literati were always "attached to the soil" and rooted in their rural homes, these writers frequently ventured beyond their familiar homelands to embark on journeys of both body and spirit. These experiences not only expanded the territory of classical literary writing but also gave shape to a rich and complex tapestry of travel narratives.
Aligning with the scholarly proposal of a "History of Chinese Literature through the Lens of You (Travel)," this course introduces and analyzes diverse literary texts in chronological order. Through the perspective of "travel," students will be guided to systematically construct a framework of knowledge regarding Chinese travel literature and broaden their horizons in literary interpretation.
The course also features a practical writing assignment. Students will be guided to integrate their academic findings with a traveler’s perspective to compose a "Hometown Travel Guide," applying classical insights to a modern, personal context.
