This course aims to introduce students to English academic writing and equip them with basic knowledge and skills for research. This course is also designed to encourage students' critical thinking and evaluation of their own approaches to English academic writing. By the end of the course, students will be able to produce a piece of extended writing (i.e., a project in the form of an introduction, literature review, conclusion, and references) in their academic area(s) of interest. The course will be useful for students who plan to further their academic studies or work in professions that require strong evidence-based writing skills.
