This course aims to develop students' listening comprehension through a variety of listening skills training and improve their speaking ability through extensive speaking practice. Students will listen to lively, natural language from various contexts, including dialogues, news reports, lectures, songs, stories, etc. They will be trained to acquire listening strategies including summarizing main ideas, drawing inferences, guessing meaning from context, and listening for details. By participating in group discussions, giving public speeches, and conducting debates, they will improve their communication and presentation skills and competence in speaking English.
