This course highlights the ownership of the target language by training students to voice their thoughts and structure their logic through English writing. Students will transfer and apply fundamental writing skills and knowledge to sequential products, to practice the use of description, narration and exposition for genuine and meaningful communication. Students will engage in both academic and expressive writing. Academic writing is the top priority to support general schoolwork throughout the program. For major writing tasks, each student will meet with the instructor individually in a writer’s conference. In addition to individual works, the students also will engage in group tasks for cooperative learning. Extensive revisions will be emphasized as integral to the writing process. Frequent language games will boost up learning motivation. This one-year class will incorporate writing, reading, speaking and listening elements—the 4 skills jointly strengthen overall literacy level.
