本科目屬於校園生態綠美化之社會實踐學習科目，選課同學必須參加社會實踐學習，目標在於使學生瞭解臺灣的植物生態特性，探討臺灣可見的各種植物，包含特有與稀有的植物，並讓大家了解植物與環境的關係，人們如何與大自然中的動植物共存，凝聚大家對自然生態環境保育的共識。全學期課程共分為三大部分，第一部份介紹植物的基本概念與觀察方法，並培育草本花卉，以及臺灣地區的地理概況與植物生態環境的關係。第二部分則是分析臺灣植物群落的特性，包含緯度與海拔高度差異產生的不同林相分布，以及其與世界其他地區植物的差異，並選介代表性植物。第三部份介紹臺灣地區植物資源的應用與保育，包含常見已經用於園藝景觀上的原生與園藝植物，以及引進外來種不慎造成臺灣原生植物的威脅，同時從歷史的觀點，介紹國內外研究植物相關的科學家們對臺灣植物研究上的貢獻，最後帶領學生至校園親自體驗中正大學校園植物之美，並實地進行簡單綠美化，讓同學們對自己的校園有更深的認識。
The main objective of this course is to give the students a introduction about the plant's Ecological characteristics in Taiwan. Analyze the relationship of altitude and plants, and distinguish the plants of hige altitude from low. Understanding the relationship of human, plants and environment. It is anticipated that through this course the students may gain fundamental knowledge on ecological environment in Taiwan, and the concept of environmental Conservation. The course consists of three main parts. The first part introduces the basic concept of plant, and the realtion of plant and its surrounding environment, as well as the attractiveness of Taiwan's forest. The second part describes the characteristics of Taiwan plant community. Introduced a variety of plant communities in Taiwan, and the color change of plant aesthetics will also be introduced. The third part discusses the theme of sustainable green environment and nature conservation , including ornamental plants , invasive plants and campus plants. The teacher will also go outside the classroom to campus with students, experience the beauty of campus plants together.
