授課目的乃是藉由介紹電影配樂發展之基本概念、創作元素、歷史沿革與國內外代表性電影配樂作品風格賞析研討．以好萊塢電影工業發展脈絡與配樂風格為研討起始，延伸至現今台灣電影配樂作品與其音樂創作手法評析，使學生能深入瞭解其中之聯繫與差異，並透過課堂討論與專題研討，仔細體會影像與音樂間之對應關係與相輔相成，進能增進整體音樂鑑賞能力與專業知識。
The main content of this course will be focused on the stylistic appreciation of both Hollywood and Taiwanese film scoring industry. The discussions will not only include the historical background of each period but also illustrate the composing styles toward various composers. Moreover, during the lectures, the musical analysis and composing theories for each film will be mentioned as well. Therefore, through the diversified topics, students' musical appreciation will be built up to a higher level.
