本課程旨在培養學生運用英語於與自身學科相關的職場與學術情境中進行溝通的能力。課程以職場英語為基礎，引導學生說明專業想法、運用學科相關的關鍵詞彙，並討論其專業領域的主題。此外，課程亦著重於描述與呈現專業資料，包括在學術與技術情境中常見的圖表、表格與示意圖。學生將練習以英語描述趨勢、進行比較，並解讀視覺化資訊，並學習比較簡單的科學或技術設計，說明其主要差異與優點。透過引導式任務、討論與簡報活動，學生將逐步建立自信，能清楚且有效地以英語進行專業溝通。
This course aims to develop students' ability to use English for communication in workplace and academic settings related to their own disciplines. Using workplace-based English as a foundation, students learn how to explain professional ideas, use key discipline-related vocabulary, and discuss topics from their fields of study. The course also focuses on describing and presenting professional data, including charts, tables, and diagrams commonly used in academic and technical contexts. Students practice describing trends, making comparisons, and interpreting visual information in English. In addition, they learn to compare simple scientific or technical designs and explain their main differences and advantages. Through guided tasks, discussions, and presentations, students gain confidence in using English to communicate professional information clearly and effectively.
