Pre-requisites: CNC, CAD, CAM, Microsoft Visual Studio IDE, etc.

Overview: This course will introduce the CNC machine tool's machining application technology.
Fundamental functional modules will be introduced at the beginning; these include a CNC controller,
operation panel, linear and rotational axes, tools, fixtures, machining processes, and roles of a
CAD/CAM system, cutting simulation and learning system, virtual reality technology, networking,
and monitoring, etc. Existing and potential value-adding functions, methodologies, and modules will
also be introduced. Students could learn the scope of an industrial machine tool application-centric
overview to inspire their creative talent for future innovations.

Objectives: To cultivate students to be familiar with the basic and advanced value-adding application
technology of a CNC machine tool towards both smart machine and smart machining.
