This graduate-level course provides an introduction to optimization theory and will be conducted in English. It covers classical topics, including first-order and second-order numerical methods for unconstrained optimization, linear programming, the Lagrangian multiplier method, the Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) conditions, and duality theorems. If time permits, the course will also introduce fundamental concepts in convex optimization. Instruction will primarily take place using chalkboard teaching, and students are required to submit their in-class notes weekly.
