English Listening and Speaking for Sports Events英文運動賽事聽講
一、課程概述
This English-taught course explores major international sports events and their significance in contemporary society. Through news reports, event broadcasts, YouTube videos, sports documentaries, and guided discussions, this course aims to help students examine the historical development, cultural influence, and social significance of sports events around the world. Students are expected to develop disciplinary knowledge while strengthening their critical thinking.
Students will engage with a wide range of materials related to global sports events, including the Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup, Wimbledon Championships, Formula One, and other major competitions. By analyzing real-world examples, students will develop a deeper understanding of how sports events shape local communities and global cultures.
Class activities emphasize active learning, collaborative discussion, and critical reflection. Students are expected to participate in event-based discussions, and submit regular reflection journals through the online learning platform (E-course). By the end of the semester, students are expected to present their analysis on one major global sports event with in-depth, critical discussion.
