Health Inequalities in an Ageing Society高齡社會之健康不平等
一、課程概述
This module aims to provide you with a foundation of knowledge in the area of social policy, health, and well-being in later life. The first part of the course will focus on defining key concepts within the study of health inequalities, health inequities, and determinants of health. In this part of the course, we will also examine the dominant theoretical perspectives used to analyze health inequalities, including the psychosocial framework, the materialist/political economy framework, the life course framework, and finally, the cultural and behavioral framework. In the second part of the course, we will explore the relationship between health inequalities and race and ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, and geography. The final part of the course will explore ways to address health inequalities, health inequities, such as intersectionality, sustainability action, surveillance, and other forms of policy and action.
Having successfully completed the module, you will be able to:
 Understand the links between the ageing process and health status, and the health implications of ageing for older people;
 Evaluate critically the factors affecting the health and well-being patterns of older people across the life-course to impact healthy ageing.
