本課程就文化、政治、與經濟層面概論世界現代史，課程以西元 1860 年為起點，探討世界各區域革命與社會轉型事件如何塑造十九世紀末的世界發展。課程涵蓋十九世紀後半葉的世界政經文化狀態、第一次世界大戰發生前後的國際氛圍、全面性戰爭所造成的世界勢力分配、全球性的經濟危機、以及導致第二次世界大戰發生的世界各區域境況，並分析亞洲、非洲、美洲、歐洲等區域的現代發展。
透過中、英文教材的教學與閱讀，本課程旨在提升學生的國際視野、深化對世界現代歷史的理解、附帶提昇英語文能力。
This course offers a comprehensive overview of world history from cultural, political, and economic perspectives. Beginning in 1860 AD, it examines global development at the turn of the 19th century, the international conflicts that shaped the First and the Second World Wars, the redistribution of gloabl power resulting from total war, the global economic crisis, and regional dynamics that contributed to these conflicts. Additionally, the course explores the modern development of Asia, Africa, America, Europe, and other regions.
Through the study of history using both Chinese and English textbooks, this course aims to improve students' English proficiency while deepening their understanding of modern world history. By integrating teaching and reading strategies, students will cultivate a well-rounded international perspective.
