This course is included in the "Global Leadership and Sustainable Development" Program (全球領導及永續發展跨領域全英語學分學程), organized by the College of Law (法學院). It aims to enhance students' English listening and speaking abilities from the intermediate to upper intermediate/advanced level(s) through a variety of aural-oral trainings. As well as strengthening students' presentation skills, the course will be consistently set in the context of symposium or forum to discuss issues related to our daily life both domestically and abroad. Thus, it is expected that students can stay alert to news events and get familiar with relevant news lexicon, and that they can be actively engaged in class discussion. With equal focus on American and British English, the course targets at long lectures to orient students with more authentic and professional English settings and to comprehend topic issues for critical discussion.
