This course is designed to instruct students to a better understanding of 18th-century literature in English along with its social contexts. As listed in the schedule below, works of four authors will be the focus of this course. In addition to two exams, students are expected to participate actively in class. Group discussions will be held throughout the semester to foster interpretation and critical thinking.
