"Literature as Film, Film as Literature" is an undergraduate elective course designed to provide students with the opportunity to study the close relationship between print literature and movies. Along with close study of the novels and movies, students will be asked to get to know and discuss director/actor interviews, book and film reviews, video analyses, and theoretical/scholarly articles on the chosen works. Students' course grades will be based on their participation in class discussions as well as their written responses to the assigned literary texts and movies. These essays will be written in class with the help of any texts, notes, etc. each student chooses to use.
