This course aims to help students improve academic reading skills. Particularly, this course fosters students' reading skills and strategies including identifying main ideas, managing unknown vocabulary, continuing ideas, understanding point of view, comprehending problem-solution texts, identifying thesis of a reading, understanding graphic materials, and noticing nominalization in subjects. This course also helps student develop critical thinking skills in making connections and making inferences. In addition, this course helps students accumulate academic vocabularies.
