Course Design and Material Evaluation課程設計與教材評估
一、課程概述
This course aims to give you an informed understanding of theoretical principles and practical issues involved in developing curricula and materials for teaching proficiency-oriented courses in English for general and specific purposes. It also aims to develop students' ability to design, adapt and evaluate TEFL materials as well as language-learning tasks or activities. In this course, students will have opportunities to adopt a variety of roles, including course designer, implementer, and evaluator of TEFL materials and activities. The following topics will be discussed:
1. Issues in course design and materials development
2. Materials selection and evaluation (including Caves Books)
3. Different approaches for syllabus design (Goals, content, & sequencing)
(a) TBLT
(b) CLIL
(c) Technology related approaches: blended learning and digital materials development
4. Methodologies for conducting research in your own classroom:
(a) Needs analysis
(b) Case study
(c) Corpus analysis
